Get excited for Free Comic Book Day 2015 – fan favourite comic book artist Amanda Conner has designed a rocking t-shirt to get you in the mood for it. You may recognise Amanda Conner’s work from DC’s Powergirl, Harley Quinn or Before Watchmen: Silk Spectre. The commemorative FCBD 2015 shirt was created with colourist Paul Mounts who has collaborated with Amanda before on Before Watchmen: Silk Spectre, as well as Marvel’s Ultimates books and Tellos.
Amanda’s artwork represents the diversity of comic book readers, and how we are united by a common love of reading great stories in a unique art form.
I remembered what many of us comic book readers actually are… frustrated super-heroes. I thought about making a piece of art that would resemble a super-hero insignia. Hopefully when you see it from a distance, that’s what it looks like.
From January 2015, you can pre-order the shirt from comic book shops, and it will also be featured in the January issue of Diamond’s PREVIEWS catalogue.
The t-shirt will be available in black and navy colours in adult sizes, youth sizes, and for the first time, women’s v-neck tees will also be available. For those that don’t want to wear it, the design will also be available as a poster. All proceeds go towards Free Comic Book Day’s marketing and promotional efforts.
